IXPE Foam Market Demands From 2016 To 2020

IXPE, or electron-irradiated cross-linked polyethylene, is a new type of polymer foam material.

Global IXPE foam market demand reached 1.11 billion square meters in 2016, a year-on-year increase of 6.8%; 1.19 billion square meters in 2017, an 8.0% year-on-year increase; 1.30 billion square meters in 2018, an 8.4% year-on-year increase; 1.42 billion square meters in 2019, a 9.1% year-on-year increase; and 1.56 billion square meters in 2020, a 10.2% year-on-year increase.

In recent years, a number of foam plastics manufacturers in mainland China have grown steadily. After years of development and the absorption and improvement of technological processes, their production techniques and processes have become highly mature, and in some products and markets, they have surpassed joint ventures in Japan and Taiwan. Currently, my country's leading foam plastics manufacturers are capable of competing with leading global companies in some products and markets, and their industry influence is gradually expanding.

In 2016, China's IXPE foam production reached 525 million square meters, an increase of 8.6% year-on-year; in 2017, China's IXPE foam production reached 575 million square meters, an increase of 9.4% year-on-year; in 2018, China's IXPE foam production reached 639 million square meters, an increase of 11.2% year-on-year; in 2019, China's IXPE foam production reached 722 million square meters, an increase of 12.9% year-on-year; and in 2020, China's IXPE foam production reached 823 million square meters, a year-on-year increase of 14.0%.
